KoSA Storms New York City & Toronto with DVD Parties
New York, NY/USA - KoSA hosted special DVD music parties in New York and Toronto this past May to launch the new KoSA educational and performance series (KoSA Eleven /Live 2006) produced in collaboration with Hudson Music.  This DVD features nine short lessons with some of today's great artists including KoSA’s famed faculty:   Antonio Sanchez, Bernard Purdie, Clayton Cameron, Glen Velez, Memo Acevedo, Kenwood Dennard, John Amira, Jaime Haddad and Giovanni Hidalgo.  It also features incredible KoSA moments such as an outstanding duet with Clayton Cameron and Giovanni Hidalgo as well as intimate and candid interviews.

The launch concert in New York at DROM  featured the house rhythm section : Hector Martignon  on piano and Armando Gola on bass.   KoSA’s Artistic Director, Aldo Mazza, organized a spectacular evening with special guest artists joining him in this celebration.  True to the spirit of KoSA as “one of the greatest hangs” for both participants and artists’ alike,  the audience was treated to performances by Michael Wimberly, Memo Acevedo, Mario DiCiutiis, Alessandra Belloni, and Aldo Mazza . Bernard Purdie, Carmine Appice, Liberty DeVitto, Gordon Gottlieb and Rick Van Horn  also joined the fun.

North of the border, the KoSA DVD launch party concert in Toronto was held at the famous Lula Lounge.  The memorable evening featured some of Toronto's finest musicians - Cuban pianist Hilario Duran, the sought-after bassist Roberto Occhipinti and the sensational Mark Kelso on drums.

Sitting in and bringing down the roof that evening were special guests  such as studio greats Kevan McKenzie and Al Webster. Fusion masters Vito Rezza  and Giampaolo Scatozza, and Cuban percussionist Mario Del Monte.   It was a true musical adventure (à la KoSA) led by director Aldo Mazza. Staff members of the Canadian Musician Magazine were on hand to lend support and party along, as well as Dave Hamilton of JUST DRUMS store who kindly made sure that everyone had all the required great drum and percussion gear on hand.
